Baghdad Municipality Initiates Development of Key Areas in Sha’la Al-Sadrin

Baghdad: The Baghdad Municipality has commenced the development of the Medical Supplies Street and the Al-Hayakel area in the Shula al-Sadrin district.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Shula Municipality Department has started the development work after removing encroachments, completing engineering designs, and coordinating with service departments to avoid conflicts with existing service networks and infrastructure.

The municipality’s statement outlined that the development on Medical Supplies Street involves several key tasks. These include opening the earthworks, removing debris, and installing a main water pipe along the sidewalk adjacent to residential buildings. Following this, compacted gravel will be laid, sidewalks and storm drains will be constructed, asphalt layers will be paved, sewage manholes will be raised, and the median strip will be landscaped.

In neighborhood 659, the development plans include similar tasks such as opening the earthworks, spraying and compacting the surface, ensuring design levels compliance, and conducting laboratory tests. The work will continue with the laying of compacted gravel, construction of sidewalks and storm drains, paving with three layers of asphalt, and raising the manholes.

These projects are part of the Baghdad Municipality’s broader plans to develop the road network and services, improve infrastructure, and enhance the urban landscape in residential areas.
