Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has reported that the areas surrounding the capital are experiencing substantial security stability, with no presence of ISIS cells detected.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Abbas Hamid, the Director of Media for the Operations Command, highlighted in an exclusive interview the ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region. He stated that the Command initiates regular preemptive security operations in various parts of Baghdad, particularly in the Baghdad belt. These operations, which occur almost daily, are informed by intelligence data and encompass search, inspection, and reconnaissance activities.

He further explained that there is effective cooperation between different branches of the security forces and local citizens, particularly in the areas surrounding Baghdad. Field commanders frequently meet with citizens, tribal sheikhs, and local leaders, addressing essential needs such as water and fuel shortages. This collaboration not only enhances community security but also strengthens the bond between the security forces and the local population.

Major General Hamid assured that any potential threat from ISIS elements in the capital and its neighboring areas is nearly nonexistent. Even if some terrorist elements are discovered in hiding, their capacity to execute operations is severely hindered by the comprehensive and vigilant deployment of security forces throughout Baghdad and its environs, operating continuously around the clock.
