Baghdad: The Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of the individual responsible for the killing of Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Tala’a. The arrest took place at the residence of a man who is also wanted under Article (4) of the Anti-Terrorism Law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Miqdad Miri, head of the Department of Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior, revealed that the arrest was the result of a meticulous technical and intelligence operation conducted by the Falcons Intelligence Cell of the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Rusafa district. The operation successfully located and apprehended the suspect inside the home of an individual who was providing him shelter.

Major General Miri further explained that investigations into the homeowner confirmed his status as a wanted individual under Article Four of the Counter-Terrorism Law. The homeowner was sought by the Nineveh Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate due to his alleged affiliation with the ISIS terrorist organization.

He also stated that both suspects have been arrested and are undergoing due legal processes. They have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation. Major General Miri emphasized the commitment of the security services to continue their efforts in pursuing wanted individuals and preventing anyone from providing them with refuge or concealment.
