Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi affirmed on Sunday that the martyrs are the nation’s beacon, their children and families are in our hearts, and justice will take its course, while he directed that full care be provided to the families of the two martyrs in the Dora Incident, posthumously promoting each of them to a higher rank and ensuring their needs are met.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a press release that “Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi met today, Sunday, with the families of the two martyrs, Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Talaa al-Salman, Director of the Amanah Police Department in Karkh, and Commissioner Khalid Abbas Lafteh al-Fawali, who were martyred while performing their official duties in the Dora district during an operation to address encroachments and enforce the law.”
“Al-Zaidi emphasized that the martyrs are the nation’s beacon, and their children and families are in our hearts. He stressed that justice will take its course and that the perpetrators will receive their just punishment according to the law,” the statement added.
“The Prime Minister directed that full care be provided to the families of the two martyrs, that each of them be given a higher rank, and that their needs be attended to, in appreciation of their sacrifices and contributions in the service of duty and the protection of citizens’ security,” according to the statement.
