Basra: The Basra Directorate of Education has issued a public statement clarifying the situation concerning the 38,000-position contract file. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate recently delivered a CD containing the names of individuals included in the contract to the Ministry of Finance. This action followed a request from the Ministry and was accompanied by an official letter. The Directorate confirmed that the CD was intact and functional when delivered.
The Directorate expressed surprise upon receiving a letter from the Ministry of Finance indicating that the CD was damaged and requesting a replacement. In response, the Directorate has expedited the preparation of a new CD, which will be sent to the Ministry promptly to prevent any delays in fulfilling the entitlements of those involved in the file.
The Directorate assured that all procedures within its control have been completed accurately and that no delays have occurred due to their actions. Official procedures and previous correspondence confirm their adherence to protocol regarding salary matters and the 38,000-grade contracts. They urged all parties to accurately disseminate information and not to attribute responsibility to the Directorate for issues beyond its jurisdiction.
The Directorate emphasized the legal right to demonstrate, though it noted that repeated closures of its gates by protestors have disrupted administrative work, affecting citizens, retirees, and payroll processing. It called on security forces to ensure that demonstrations do not impede government operations.
In light of these disruptions, the Directorate announced its intention to take legal action against those obstructing its duties. It plans to file formal complaints with the relevant authorities against individuals responsible for such actions.
