Baghdad: The Director of the Commander-in-Chief’s Office has initiated the establishment of a supreme committee, along with regional committees, to oversee and address cases of violations. Abdul Amir al-Shammari, who heads the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has directed the formation of these committees to systematically monitor and track encroachments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell released a press statement revealing that Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari led a meeting on Sunday. This meeting was attended by the Governor of Baghdad, the Mayor of Baghdad, the Deputy Mayor, various security commanders, intelligence officials, and other relevant stakeholders. The discussion focused on security and service operational mechanisms, task distribution to prevent unauthorized land clearing and subdivision, and tightening legal actions against violators by referring them to the judiciary.

The Director also addressed the challenges faced by municipal and security personnel in monitoring these encroachments. There was a focus on enhancing intelligence coordination to curb the subdivision of agricultural land and reviewing plans to remove violations while providing necessary protection for monitoring teams.

The meeting concluded with firm directives against construction without official permits. A special committee, led by the Baghdad Operations Commander and other relevant authorities, was tasked with implementing these new directives and recommendations.
