Baghdad: Minister of Electricity, Ali Saadi Wahib, met with the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Xiang Bo, on Sunday to discuss strengthening cooperation in the energy sector. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry headquarters, where Wahib offered congratulations to Xiang Bo on assuming his new post.

The Ministry’s press release revealed that the discussions aimed at completing the work of Chinese companies operating within Iraq’s electricity sector. The focus was on implementing directives from the Prime Minister regarding contracts with specialized Chinese manufacturers to build steam and solar power plants.

Both parties highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in the energy sector, emphasizing the potential to leverage the expertise and technical capabilities of Chinese companies in electricity projects. This cooperation is expected to contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of Iraq’s electricity grid.
