Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the United States will use Venezuelan oil to replenish its strategic petroleum reserve, a day after announcing a broad oil agreement with Venezuela. Trump stated that the process of replenishing the strategic reserve would begin soon, referring to the Venezuelan oil as “a gift from Venezuela to the people of the United States.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this initiative follows a recent oil agreement between the US and Venezuela, aimed at addressing energy needs and strengthening ties between the two nations. The strategic petroleum reserve, a critical component of US national energy security, is expected to benefit from this new influx of oil.
