Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi affirmed on Tuesday that Iraq’s strength lies in its diversity and pluralism, emphasizing the government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all its components, including the Mandaean Sabaean community.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office issued a statement highlighting that Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi met with Rish Amma Sheikh Sattar Jabbar al-Hilu, the head of the Mandaean Sabaean community in Iraq and globally, along with his delegation. This delegation included several religious figures and prominent members of the Mandaean Sabaean community.

Al-Zaidi reiterated that Iraq’s diversity is its strength and recognized the Mandaean Sabaean community as an authentic and fundamental component of the nation. He assured that all Iraqis are equal in rights and responsibilities and underlined the government’s dedication to protecting this diversity and ensuring the rights of all its citizens.

In a move to support the community, the Prime Minister directed that the Mandaean Sabaean community be included in the million-plot residential land project. This initiative aims to provide suitable housing, contributing to stability and a dignified life for all Iraqis.

Sattar Jabbar Al-Hilu and his delegation praised the government’s efforts in combating corruption, protecting public funds, and reinforcing Iraq’s standing at both the Arab and international levels. They also acknowledged the government’s dedication to enforcing the rule of law and consolidating sovereignty.
