Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Tuesday the importance of strengthening national unity, expediting the completion of the cabinet, and supporting the government in implementing its program in a way that reinforces the principles of good governance.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic indicated that “President Nizar Amedi received Saleh al-Mutlaq, head of the Iraqi National Dialogue Front, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.”

The statement added that “during the meeting, the latest political and economic developments in the country were discussed, and the importance of strengthening national unity was emphasized, in order to support the progress of the state and its institutions.”

The President stressed “the necessity of joint efforts to improve the living standards and services provided to citizens, and to respond to their needs and aspirations,” noting “the importance of expediting the completion of the cabinet and supporting the government in implementing its program in a way that reinforces the principles of good governance and supports national efforts in combating corruption and protecting public funds.”

For his part, Saleh al-Mutlaq praised “the role of the President of the Republic in supporting dialogue and national understanding,” stressing “the importance of continued communication between the various political forces and the exchange of views on current issues.”
