Basra: The Basra Anti-Crime Police arrested a sorcerer practicing witchcraft and sorcery in the Abu al-Khasib district. The Basra Police Command Media Office explained in a statement that after receiving information and complaints from several citizens in the Abu al-Khasib district regarding a man practicing witchcraft and sorcery and exploiting women under the pretext of facilitating marriage, a team from the Basra Anti-Crime Department was formed to investigate and gather information.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, “After obtaining judicial approvals and cooperating with the intelligence unit, the team was able to arrest the accused in the act, seizing from him a collection of books, talismans, and tools used in witchcraft and sorcery, in addition to his immoral acts against women. Legal measures have been taken against him.”
