Marco Faraj Officially Joins Dutch Side Heerenveen on a Four-Year Contract


Heerenveen: Dutch club Heerenveen has officially announced the signing of Iraqi international winger Marco Faraj from Italian club Venezia during the current summer transfer window. The move aims to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Dutch club and will wear the number 21 jersey. This acquisition provides the club with multiple attacking options, given Faraj’s abilities and versatility in playing on both flanks.



Marco Faraj is a young talent who has recently attracted attention, having delivered strong performances during his previous stint with Norwegian club Str¸msgodset. He made 31 appearances for Str¸msgodset, scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists.



At the international level, the striker boasts a record with the Iraqi national team, having participated in the last World Cup and gained international experience despite his age. Observers believe that Faraj’s move to the Dutch league represents an important step in his professional career, allowing him to gain more experience and develop in one of the European leagues known for its focus on developing young talent.
