PMF Announces Fighter Martyred in Terrorist Attack in Kirkuk


Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Authority announced on Thursday that one of its personnel was martyred in a terrorist attack in Kirkuk.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated that ‘the PMF Authority mourned fighter Ali Bahjat Hamid, a member of the 16th Brigade under the North and East Tigris Operations Command, who was martyred in an armed attack targeting a brigade checkpoint within its area of responsibility at 2 a.m. in the Altun Kupri district of Kirkuk Governorate.’



The statement further added that ‘the attack also left fighter Junaid Ismat Bahjat injured. Necessary measures were taken and he was transferred to hospital for treatment, while the relevant authorities continue their procedures to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.’
