Kirkuk: An attempt to smuggle a shipment of electrical appliances into Kirkuk was thwarted by police patrols and emergency response units. A suspicious truck on the ring road near the Laylan overpass was stopped and searched, revealing a large quantity and variety of electrical appliances without official documents or proper permits.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, initial investigations indicated that the shipment was brought into the country illegally to evade customs duties and import regulations. The authorities impounded the truck and the seized goods, and the driver was formally detained. The case has been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
