Baghdad: Six “highly dangerous” criminals were killed during security raids conducted by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in the regions of Sohag and Aswan. These operations targeted the hideouts of individuals involved in smuggling narcotics and unlicensed weapons for distribution, following comprehensive surveillance efforts by the authorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry reported that the operation involved Central Security Forces and was executed after fulfilling all necessary legal procedures. During the raid, a police officer sustained injuries, and the remaining members of the group were successfully apprehended.

The ministry’s statement detailed that the deceased had prior charges and convictions including murder, attempted murder, drug trafficking, weapons possession, and armed robbery. The operation led to the seizure of approximately 850 kilograms of narcotics, about 4,000 narcotic and psychotropic pills, and 118 firearms. The estimated value of the confiscated items is said to exceed 128 million Egyptian pounds.
