Trabzon: Turkish club Trabzonspor, after parting ways with their coach Fatih Teke, are considering a choice between Italian Antonio Conte and Turkish Turan. Turkish press reports have revealed that Trabzonspor is conducting a search for a new coach for its football team after parting ways with former coach Fatih Teke due to poor results in both the European and domestic leagues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the club’s management has compiled a list of top coaches who, based on their proposed solutions, could rescue the team from its current predicament and poor performance. Italian coach Antonio Conte is reportedly the initial choice.

While some Trabzonspor members believe that appointing Turkish coach Arda Turan might be the most suitable solution, both technically and financially, the club’s shortlist also includes Portuguese coach Sergio Conceiço and the coach of Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

The local newspaper Fotomac reported that Trabzonspor has explored the possibility of hiring Tura
n, while Conte remains the management’s top choice. The name of Portuguese coach Vítor Pereira is also among the other options being considered.

Trabzonspor’s results have deteriorated under Fatih Tekke’s leadership, losing three of their last four matches. They were eliminated from the Europa League after losing both legs to Hungarian side Ferencváros in the preliminary round, thus dropping to the Europa League.

The team also suffered a 1-2 defeat against newly promoted Amedsport, causing Trabzonspor to slip to fifth place despite strengthening their squad with the signings of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Al-Ittihad.

Trabzonspor will face Gençlerbirligi next Sunday in the fourth round of the Turkish Super League.
