Baghdad: The Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, visited the families of two martyrs in the Al-Dora area. The visit was made to pay respects to Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Tala’ al-Salman, Director of the Al-Amana Police Department in Karkh, and Commissioner Khalid Abbas Lafta al-Fawali, who lost their lives while on duty. The two security personnel were killed during an operation aimed at removing encroachments and enforcing the law in the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker extended his condolences to the grieving families, highlighting that the attack on these security officers represents an assault on the state and its legal authority. He stressed the necessity of a decisive response to this act of violence, stating that those responsible must be held to account. “Justice will take its course, and the perpetrators of this crime will receive their just punishment according to the law,” al-Halbousi affirmed during his visit.
