President Nizar Amidi Stresses Duty to Uncover Mass Graves Victims’ Fate


Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has emphasized that uncovering the fate of the victims of mass graves represents both a national and humanitarian duty. This statement came during a meeting with the national team responsible for opening mass graves at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi highlighted the importance of ongoing efforts to exhume and identify the remains, ensuring their return to families. He underscored the necessity of providing justice for the families awaiting news of their loved ones’ fate and stressed the importance of documenting the crimes against the Iraqi people to preserve national memory.



During the meeting, the President received a presentation detailing the team’s achievements and the obstacles they encounter. He highlighted the importance of supporting these efforts and facilitating procedures to open the mass graves and complete the identification process, adhering to legal and scientific standards.
