Baghdad Municipality Unveils Advanced Citizen Complaint System

Baghdad: The Baghdad Municipality has announced a transformative upgrade to its citizen complaint handling system through the initiative “Baghdad, Voice of the Citizen.” This development marks a significant shift in how the city manages and responds to citizen feedback and issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the initiative is spearheaded by Baghdad Mayor, Engineer Ammar Musa Kadhim, and the Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs. The Directorate of Relations and Media – Citizens’ Affairs Department recently convened a comprehensive meeting with officials from various municipal and technical departments. This meeting focused on reviewing the substantial updates made to the “Baghdad, Voice of the Citizen” platform and application.

The Municipality’s statement highlighted that the meeting included an extensive operational simulation of the complaint and request process. This simulation covered all stages, from the initial submission by the citizen to classification, referral, follow-up, processing, and completion. The goal of these updates is to expedite response times, streamline procedures, and improve follow-up efficiency.

The updates also incorporate artificial intelligence technologies to analyze and classify complaints, identify recurring issues, and extract indicators to support decision-making. This technological integration aims to enhance the overall quality of municipal services provided to the citizens of Baghdad.

Furthermore, in an effort to expand access to municipal services and promote digital integration, the “Baghdad Voice of the Citizen” application and services will soon be accessible through the SuperQi application. This addition provides citizens with a more convenient means to access services, submit requests, and track them electronically.

This development is the culmination of over two years of study, analysis, and operational testing. It transitions the “Baghdad Voice of the Citizen” from a simple complaint platform to a sophisticated digital system for managing citizen feedback and supporting informed decision-making.
