Wasit: The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of two suspects involved in the theft of a kindergarten in the Zubaydiya district of Wasit Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry revealed in a press release that units from the North Wasit Anti-Crime Department successfully apprehended the suspects for the theft that occurred in the Military District of Zubaydiya. The arrest followed a report from the kindergarten administration, which prompted direct instructions from the provincial police chief to form a specialized team. This team conducted a thorough investigation, which ultimately led to the identification and capture of the suspects.

The statement further disclosed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing an iPad, a laptop, and a sum of money from the kindergarten. Additionally, they admitted to committing seven other thefts targeting residential buildings under construction and commercial establishments. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects under Article (444/11) of the Iraqi Penal Code.
