Erbil: Kurdistan Democratic Party President Masoud Barzani mourned the passing of Abdul Wahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani, whom he described as the elder brother of his family. Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani passed away on Friday after a period of illness.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement of condolence, Barzani expressed that the deceased was the grandson of the national and religious leader Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani and was known for his piety, devotion, and good deeds. He was also recognized as a prominent and highly esteemed figure within their family.

Barzani further added, “We ask God Almighty to have mercy on the soul of the deceased and grant him a place in Paradise.”
