Baquba: A shipment of prohibited medicines was intercepted north of Baquba by the Diyala Police Command’s checkpoints and external roads department. The operation successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle the medicines through a security checkpoint.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security source reported that the vehicle loaded with prohibited human medicines was seized at a checkpoint as part of ongoing security efforts. These efforts aim to prevent the exploitation of roads and border crossings for smuggling illegal materials.

The source further revealed that legal measures were promptly taken against the driver of the vehicle. The driver, along with the seized goods, has been referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
