Basra: A beggar was arrested in Basra in possession of 813,000 dinars and 15 rings. The Basra Governorate Police Command conducted a large-scale campaign to combat begging, which led to this arrest.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police command’s media office stated in a press release that emergency police units are continuing their field operations targeting beggars. The Al-Ashar emergency police unit was responsible for arresting the beggar and confiscating 813,000 Iraqi dinars along with 15 jewelry rings.
The statement further mentioned that the necessary legal procedures have been taken against the individual.
