Putin Confirms No Extended Ceasefire Agreement with Ukraine

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed in a meeting with American negotiators that Russia and Ukraine had not agreed on a broader three-day ceasefire to halt attacks on the two capitals. President Putin noted that Russia had suspended its strikes on Kyiv for three days starting September 5th, and that the Ukrainian side had significantly reduced its attacks on Russian territory during that period.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Putin stated, “The Ukrainian authorities issued their call for a ceasefire longer than three days, but we never agreed to that with them.” Addressing the American negotiators, Steve Witkopf and Jared Kushner, the president added, “But we will do our utmost to ensure the security of the negotiation process and the mediators, represented by you and your delegation.”
