Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi emphasized to the Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, Steven Fagin, on Tuesday the importance of supporting Iraq’s security and stability.
According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Presidential Media Office indicated that “President Nizar Amedi received the new Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, Steven Fagin.” During the meeting, bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States were discussed, along with ways to develop them, as well as regional developments and several issues of common interest.
“The President stressed the importance of continuing to work on developing cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, and developmental fields in a way that contributes to supporting Iraq’s security and stability, while wishing Fagin success in his new duties,” according to the statement.
For his part, Fagin affirmed his country’s aspiration to continue cooperation with Iraq and develop bilateral relations in a way that serves both countries, praising the importance of the partnership between the two sides in various fields.
