Salah al-Din Governor and Al-Askari Shrine Deputy Discuss Development Projects for Samarra


Salah al-din: The Governor of Salah al-Din, Haitham al-Zahwan, held a meeting with Karim al-Bayati, Deputy Secretary-General of the al-Askari Shrine, to discuss a variety of projects concerning the city of Samarra. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Mufid al-Baldawi.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions focused on supporting and developing the city in a manner that acknowledges its historical, cultural, and religious importance as a former capital of Islamic civilization. The governorate’s press release indicated that the meeting covered various service and development projects, along with strategies for collaboration among relevant authorities to enhance Samarra’s infrastructure and cultural heritage.



The governor highlighted the necessity of collaborative efforts to further the city’s development, emphasizing the need to back projects that benefit the residents of Samarra and its visitors. The aim is to preserve the city’s cultural and religious legacy while improving its service level and project execution to reflect its historical significance.
