Aston villa: Aston Villa secured a valuable 3-2 victory over Club Brugge in their opening Champions League group stage match on Tuesday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, John McGinn opened the scoring for Aston Villa in the 11th minute. Emiliano Buendia extended their lead by scoring the second goal in the 22nd minute. Nicholas Jackson further strengthened their position with a third goal just before halftime, in the 43rd minute.
The Belgian side, Club Brugge, responded with a goal from Hugo Wettzelsen in the 19th minute and a penalty scored by Nicol² Trisoldi in the 61st minute. Despite their efforts, Club Brugge was unable to level the score, allowing Aston Villa to claim a win in their first group stage match.
