Baghdad: Deputy Governor Maher al-Amiri has announced the allocation of 60 billion dinars to fund the salaries of over 13,000 employees, as the administrative procedures required for disbursement continue at the Ministry of Finance and associated banks.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the governorate has already submitted a formal request to the Monetary Department to ensure salary funding until August 30, 2026. The funds will be made available once these procedures are finalized and transferred to the governorate’s account. Al-Amiri indicated that the disbursement of salaries will occur in cash, attributing the decision to the incomplete issuance of Mastercard cards.
Al-Amiri further noted that certain departments have not finalized the submission of employee attendance records and daily reports, which is causing additional delays. In an effort to expedite the process, committees will be established in collaboration with the beneficiary departments to distribute salaries promptly once funding is secured. The disbursement remains dependent on the completion of necessary administrative procedures at the Ministry of Finance.
