Basra Crude Oil Prices Rise in Tandem with Global Oil Price Increases


Basra: Basra Heavy and Basra Medium crude prices rose on Wednesday, mirroring the rise in global oil prices amid concerns about supply disruptions due to renewed attacks in various parts of the Middle East.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, global oil price data showed Basra Heavy crude increasing by $1.53 to reach $85.76 per barrel, a 1.82% increase. Basra Medium crude rose by the same amount to $89.06 per barrel, registering a 1.75% increase.

Globally, Brent crude rose by 1.4% to $99.33 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude climbed by the same percentage to $94.34. Brent has risen by about 25% since the beginning of August, as supply concerns persist and tensions in the region escalate, pushing it back towards the $100 per barrel mark.
