Integrity Commission and Presidency Office Leaders Unite Against Corruption

Baghdad: The Head of the Federal Commission of Integrity, Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, and the Head of the Presidency Office, Yahya Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, have jointly affirmed the necessity of integrating institutional efforts to combat corruption and safeguard public funds.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Integrity Commission announced that Mohammed Ali Al-Lami met with Yahya Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, where Al-Lami stressed that the collaboration of state institutions and society in fighting corruption is essential for strengthening oversight bodies. This collaboration enhances their capacity to pursue corruption and track its manifestations. Al-Lami noted the critical support from the three branches of government, particularly the executive branch, and appreciated the ongoing backing from the Presidency of the Republic in efforts to combat corruption and protect public resources. This support, he stated, aids in reinforcing the integrity system and consolidating transparency and accountability principles.

Yahya Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, Head of the Presidency of the Republic’s Office, commended the Federal Commission of Integrity for its work in combating corruption, highlighting recent campaigns that have targeted individuals involved in corruption cases. He expressed optimism that these efforts would result in cleansing state institutions of corruption and empower officials who uphold integrity and honesty. Al-Muhammadi emphasized that the Commission’s anti-corruption initiatives play a crucial role in fostering a secure and conducive environment for reconstruction, investment, and development.
