Deputy Governor of Basra Oversees Archaeological Excavation in Al-Shuaiba


Basra: The Deputy Governor of Basra, Maher Al-Amiri, took a proactive step in overseeing the archaeological excavation efforts in Al-Shuaiba by conducting a field visit to the site located in District 52, known for its oil extraction activities in East Shaiba.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Amiri met with Mustafa Al-Husseini, the Director of the Basra Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate, to get an in-depth understanding of the current activities at the excavation site. During his visit, he reviewed the various stages of the excavation process and acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the team involved in the project.



Al-Amiri expressed his approval of the increased momentum and systematic approach demonstrated by the field team. He highlighted the significance of adhering to established procedures to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the archaeological work, which is crucial for preserving the heritage and history of the region.
