Mayor of Baghdad Engages with Arab Officials at Arab Towns Organization Conference


Salalah: The Mayor of Baghdad, Engineer Ammar Musa Kazem, made significant strides in international urban collaboration as he met with various Arab officials during the 20th General Conference of the Arab Towns Organization in Salalah. The conference, which focuses on creating more innovative and sustainable cities, provided a platform for municipal leaders to share insights and experiences.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Baghdad Municipality highlighted that Mayor Kazem initiated his series of meetings with Marwan bin Turki bin Mahmoud Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Head of Dhofar Municipality. He also engaged with Badr bin Wael Al Ajil Al Askar, the Secretary General of the Arab Towns Organization, to discuss urban development strategies.



The discussions further extended to a diverse array of officials, including Beirut Mayor Ibrahim Zeidan, Jordanian Minister of Local Administration Walid Al Masri, and Kuwait Mayor Manal Al Asfour. Other notable participants were the Deputy Mayor of Riyadh, Jeddah Mayor Ihsan Bafaqih, Damascus Governor Maher Adlbi, Acting Mayor of Tunis Samah Daldoul, Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith, Doha Municipality Director General Jamal Al Nuaimi, Aden Governor Abdul Rahman Al Yafei, and Irbid Mayor Imad Al Azzam.



Mayor Kazem emphasized the significance of these interactions in fostering cooperation and sharing successful urban practices, which play a crucial role in supporting urban development and enhancing the current and future landscapes of Arab cities.
