Mosul Mayor Enforces Strict Regulations on Private Generators

Mosul: The mayor of Mosul, Hisham al-Hashemi, has intensified efforts to regulate privately owned generators in the city by implementing stringent monitoring measures and hefty fines. Violations detected by city officials could result in fines as high as 5 million dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hashemi emphasized the responsibility of generator owners to comply with pricing and operational guidelines. They are also required to install silencers and ensure their equipment does not harm or disturb local residents. The mayor highlighted that specialized teams are actively conducting field visits to enforce these regulations and take legal action against those who fail to comply.

In addition to monitoring generators, Mosul authorities are also engaged in campaigns aimed at removing unauthorized cables and other encroachments that clutter streets and threaten public safety. These ongoing efforts are part of a broader initiative to maintain order and safety in the city.
