Baghdad: The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has confirmed to NINA that Iraqi territory will not be allowed to be used to threaten any country. Sabah al-Nu’man, the spokesperson, emphasized this position during a press conference held at the office of the Director of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Nu’man also addressed ongoing discussions with Turkey regarding the PKK, including humanitarian considerations. He mentioned the possibility of the PKK either returning to Turkey or continuing their presence in Iraq. Additionally, al-Nu’man commented on the Iranian opposition in Iraq, stating that Iraq will not permit them to attack neighboring countries or bear arms.
He further noted that while there is no specific timeframe set for regulating weapons under state control, efforts to accelerate this process will intensify following September 30th, coinciding with the withdrawal of foreign forces.
