Baghdad: Minister of Agriculture Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari met with the Parliamentary Committee on Regions to discuss the development of the agricultural sector.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture stated in a press release that the Minister attended a meeting with the Committee on Regions and Non-Regionalized Governorates in the House of Representatives. The discussions focused on the government program’s components related to the agricultural sector, a review of the current state of agriculture, the challenges it faces, and ways to develop this sector to enhance food security.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Shammari affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing the government program according to established plans. This commitment aims to support agricultural production and achieve sustainable development. He highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing implementation of projects and programs intended to develop the agricultural sector and improve services for farmers.
Al-Shammari emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and the House of Representatives, especially with relevant committees. This collaboration aims to support legislation and decisions that aid in developing the agricultural sector and overcoming its challenges.
