Baghdad: Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri affirmed that books carry history and civilization and transmit knowledge from one generation to the next. A statement from his media office said: “The Minister participated in the closing events of the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, which brought together readers, writers, and publishers in Baghdad over several days. The fair was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi and the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Jubouri emphasized, “We are proud of this achievement, and the Islamic nation began with ‘Read,'” highlighting the commitment of the Ministry of Education to continue supplying its institutions with books. This effort is set to continue even as digital knowledge tools expand, ensuring that the book’s status and impact remain undiminished.

Al-Jubouri reiterated that books are fundamental in carrying history and civilization and in transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next. He extended his best wishes for success to the organizers and staff of the fair, underscoring the importance of such events in promoting literacy and education.
