Southern Energy Transmission Staff Complete Winter Maintenance at Petro Secondary Station


Basra: The staff of the General Company for Southern Energy Transmission completed proactive maintenance and insulator cleaning work on the electrical grid equipment at the Petro 132 kV secondary substation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s media office stated, “This campaign is part of proactive plans to improve the efficiency of the electrical system and reduce technical malfunctions caused by pollution and deposits.” It explained, “The work included comprehensive maintenance and cleaning of the insulators of the main transformers No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 (33/132 kV), in addition to the power transmission lines (Khor Al-Zubair 1 and 2, and Al-Shuaiba 1 and 2) 132 kV.”



The statement added, “The same staff were able to complete all the work and return the substation to full operational readiness as part of the seasonal proactive maintenance plan in preparation for winter and the rainy season, in order to ensure stable electricity supply and continuous service for citizens and vital institutions with high efficiency.”
