Jakarta: A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Java on Saturday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the quake occurred at a depth of 376 kilometers, making it a deep-focus earthquake. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

This earthquake comes just one day after another 6.2 magnitude quake struck the Banda Sea near the Indonesian Maluku Islands on Friday. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 143 kilometers and did not trigger a tsunami. There were also no immediate reports of damage.
