Tehran: Iranian media outlets have reported details of the Iran-Oman agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian news agencies Tasnim and Mehr, the agreement includes significant stipulations about the closure and conditions for reopening the Strait.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened under the current understanding with Oman. The entry route to the Strait lies entirely within Iranian territorial waters, while part of the exit route also falls within these waters. This agreement, crafted exclusively between Iran and Oman, outlines how other nations will be briefed only to ensure that they are aware of the route’s details and transit arrangements, thereby avoiding any implicit objections from the international community.

Furthermore, Iran has communicated seven specific conditions to the American side through intermediaries, stipulating that the Strait will remain closed until these conditions are fully met. The presence of other countries at the forthcoming meeting is solely for informational purposes, ensuring transparency of the agreement’s terms and maintaining international diplomatic channels open.
