Ankara: Gasoline prices in Turkey have risen again, marking the second increase in the past eight days. Gasoline prices in Turkey saw another increase starting Saturday, rising by 3.20 Turkish lira per liter. The price of a liter of regular gasoline reached 80.25 Turkish lira (approximately 2,500 Iraqi dinars), while premium gasoline reached approximately 3,250 dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this latest increase of 3.20 Turkish lira is one of the largest gasoline price hikes this September. Fuel prices had already increased on September 4th, with the price of a liter of gasoline rising by 2.57 Turkish lira and diesel by 7.79 Turkish lira.

These latest increases come amidst fluctuations in global oil markets and foreign exchange rates, which directly impact fuel prices in Turkey. These developments coincide with escalating concerns in global markets due to geopolitical tensions, including those between the United States and Iran, as well as disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic oil transit routes.

These factors have increased pressure on global oil prices, which in turn has affected gasoline prices in the Turkish market. With the latest increase, gasoline prices in Turkey continue their upward trend, while local markets closely monitor developments in global oil prices and the Turkish lira exchange rate, as these are among the most significant factors influencing fuel prices.
