London: Arsenal regained the top spot in the English Premier League on Saturday evening after defeating Sunderland 2-0 in the fourth round of matches. The first half ended in a goalless draw, but the situation changed in the second half in Arsenal’s favor.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sunderland missed a penalty in the 56th minute when goalkeeper David Raya saved Enzo Lee’s shot. Two minutes later, Bruno Guimares scored the first goal for Arsenal. Sunderland’s Reinildo Mandava was sent off in the 96th minute, and Arsenal were awarded a penalty, which Bukayo Saka converted to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
With this result, Arsenal’s points tally rose to 12, placing them first in the Premier League table, while Sunderland remained on 4 points in 14th place.
