PM’s Office Confirms Al-Zaidi to Lead Iraqi Delegation in Talks with France and Germany

Baghdad: The Media Office of the Prime Minister confirmed on Sunday that Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi will lead the Iraqi delegation in expanded talks with French and German officials.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office announced that “Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi is undertaking a European tour-leading a high-level delegation-that includes visits to France and Germany, following official invitations from the governments of both nations.”

“This European tour aligns with the government’s efforts and approach to developing international relations and opening broader horizons for partnerships with France and Germany, particularly in the sectors of energy, security, transport, and other vital fields,” the statement added.

During his tour, the Prime Minister will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister will head the Iraqi delegation in expanded discussions with the French and German sides, focusing on ways to strengthen economic partnerships amidst current regional and global challenges.

The visit will also see the signing of several memoranda of understanding in the fields of energy, security, transport, education, and culture, thereby contributing to the consolidation of cooperation and the enhancement of bilateral relations.
