Diwaniyah: Factory owners in Diwaniyah held a protest against rising fuel prices. Dozens of factory and workshop owners in Diwaniyah staged a protest after all factories shut down due to a fivefold increase in fuel prices, raising the price of a tanker to 15 million dinars from 3 million. This has led to the closure of all factories across the province.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, more than 1,000 factories have ceased operations in the province, demanding that the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Oil find swift solutions before thousands of workers are laid off. Factory owners are urging immediate intervention from government authorities to address the economic impact of the fuel price hike on the industrial sector.
