Basra: The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohammed Nouri, has directed the formation of a ministerial committee to investigate the causes of the ammonia gas leak at the urea fertilizer plant belonging to the General Company for Southern Fertilizer Industries in Basra Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directive aims to identify the factors leading to the incident and to develop measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The ministerial committee is expected to conduct a thorough examination of the plant’s operations and safety protocols.
