Hilla: A mother and her ten-month-old child lost their lives in a tragic house fire in the Abi Gharq district, west of Hilla. The fire occurred on Sunday, claiming the lives of the young woman, who was in her twenties, and her infant.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Aqeel Abdullah, the Civil Defense media director, confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. The authorities have transferred the bodies to the forensic medicine department for further examination. An investigation has been initiated to gather more details surrounding the incident.
