Basra: A source reported an ammonia gas leak inside the Southern Fertilizer Plant in the Khor Al-Zubair area of Basra Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the plant’s management evacuated employees and moved them away from the leak site as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety. The source added that specialized teams at the plant were able to contain the leak.

The source indicated that the situation was resolved after the necessary procedures were taken by the relevant teams.
