Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amedi, and the Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, emphasized on Sunday the necessity of supporting the government and expediting the completion of the cabinet formation.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic stated that President Nizar Amedi met with Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali on Sunday. The meeting, also attended by Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani, focused on recent political and security developments in the country and the challenges currently being faced. Discussions stressed the importance of consolidating political and security stability and reinforcing the work of state institutions to effectively address the requirements of the upcoming phase.

The statement also highlighted that both leaders stressed the need to support the government and hasten the completion of its formation. This step is seen as crucial for the government to fulfill its responsibilities, implement its program, and meet citizens’ aspirations. It is also aimed at improving service levels, consolidating security and stability, and protecting the nation’s supreme interests.
