Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi met today in Baghdad with the Secretary-General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, to discuss the latest political and security developments in the country and the current challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement indicated that the meeting emphasized the importance of consolidating political and security stability and strengthening the work of state institutions to meet the requirements of the next phase. The statement also stressed the need to support the government and expedite the formation of the cabinet, enabling it to fulfill its responsibilities, implement its program, respond to citizens’ aspirations, improve services, consolidate security and stability, and protect supreme national interests.
