Baghdad: Health sector employees in the central Turkish province of Kayseri have taken a poignant step to commemorate the lives of 16,277 Palestinian children who have died over the last three years. The initiative, which involved displaying the children’s names on a massive banner, aimed to show solidarity with the children of Palestine and bring attention to the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the participants chose to honor 16,277 out of the 21,500 Palestinian children who have lost their lives in the past three years. The names were meticulously printed on a banner measuring 12 meters long and 3 meters wide. This significant event took place in a public park at the heart of Kayseri, which has been symbolically renamed “Gaza Children’s Park” for the occasion.

Dr. Isa zm, representing the participants, delivered a heartfelt speech during the gathering. He highlighted the tragic reality faced by Palestinian children, who endure the sounds of bombs instead of lullabies. zm stated, “Children in Palestine try to sleep to the sounds of bombs instead of lullabies, and we cannot remain silent while children die of hunger in Gaza.” He further emphasized their commitment to raising global awareness about the violence faced by these children.

The rally participants voiced unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, urging the global community to pressure their governments to take decisive action against the ongoing aggression by Israeli forces. Since October 8, 2023, the situation in the Gaza Strip has escalated, with over 73,000 Palestinian lives lost and more than 174,000 wounded, alongside the widespread destruction of infrastructure.

This event in Kayseri serves as a somber reminder of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for international intervention to halt the violence and ensure the protection of innocent lives.
