Baghdad: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, engaged in a telephone conversation with Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council, to discuss regional developments and strengthen bilateral ties.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conversation focused on the bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, regional developments, and various issues of mutual interest. During the call, al-Halbousi condemned the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and reiterated Iraq’s stance against using its territory or airspace to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia or any neighboring country. He stressed that such actions contradict Iraq’s policy and its relations with neighboring countries.
Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, on his part, emphasized the strong fraternal bonds between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He expressed commitment to enhancing these relations further to benefit both nations and their peoples. He also acknowledged Iraq’s position against any threats to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability.
